Foreign Nationals
US residents and all other Non-Canadians must have their divorce papers notarized
by an Ontario lawyer. There may be a need to have the divorce papers translated
to English. We recommend Mr. Edward Corrigan, Barrister & Solicitor, Certified as a
Specialist by the Law Society of Upper Canada Citizenship and Immigration Law and Immigration/Refugee
Protection Law.

How soon should we book an Officiate?
Early as you can, if possible! But call us even if you have just decided to get
married. We have booked and performed weddings with less than an 2 hours notice.
How do we book you?
You can book your wedding right from our website, or call and book by phone. Office
hours are from 10 – 5pm. NOTE: The office is NOT at the chapel location so please
call for an appointment to view the chapel or to make a payment
Do you perform Weddings on Holidays & Sundays?
We are closed on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
How can we pay?

How many guests will the chapel hold?

Is the Drive-Thru open in the winter?
Drive-Thru is open through December (weather permitting) and closed January through
March.
How long does the ceremony take?
Anywhere from 10-30 minutes, depending on the number of guests
Can we write our own vows?
Yes.
Can children take part in the ceremony?
Yes.
How old must a witness be?
The marriage act of Ontario does not specify the age a witness must be. The Crystal
Wedding Chapel reserves the right to determine if the witness is cognizant of their
actions.
Can guests take photos during the ceremony?
Absolutely! We do ask that the guests stay seated during the ceremony.
Is a rehearsal necessary?
No it is not necessary, but rehearsals are available at no charge
Do you have Parking?
Lots of free parking is available on our premises. Limo parking at the front door
Changing your name from Miss to Mrs. in Ontario
Q: Do I have to change my name after I get married?
A: No.
Q: Can I change my name on documents before I get married?
A: No.
Q: When can I start the name change process?
A: Once you have received your Certificate of Marriage you can change your name.
Certificate of Marriage can be purchased 12 week after the date of your wedding.
The Ontario Marriage Certificate can be obtained on-line at
www.applicationservices.info & will take approximately 2 weeks to receive.
Q: Do I need to change my name on my passport before I leave on my honeymoon?
A: No. It is not necessary to change your passport until it is expired. But if you
intend to travel, please Ensure that your personal tickets are in your maiden name
or Hyphenate your name on the tickets, if you have changed drivers licence etc,
as you will officially be traveling under that name. This will avoid any confusion
with customs.
